keystone pipeline

  • Question:-How is Obama explain the thousands of jobs lost from the Keystone Pipeline to the American people?
Now that Obama has killed the Keystone Pipeline how is he going to explain the thousands of potential jobs lost to the American people? My guess he is going to blame the Republicans some how. What do you think?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Why is the Keystone XL Pipeline a Bad Idea?
Why is it a bad idea to extract fuel from the tar ands and transport it south? I've heard the project to be considered one of the dirtiest projects on earth, and there are international groups strongly opposing the idea. I just want to know why this is.

Also, if you have an extra second, can you clarify what the Keystone Pipeline actually is? All I know is that it runs from Canada where the tar sands are to the Gulf of Mexico... I think. Thanks!
It sounds like a good idea to me too, but how come it's got everyone all stirred up?

Answer:-I don't believe that it is a bad idea. It serves as a means of transporting a valuable energy source from source to market.
  • Question:-Why is this idiodic Keystone Pipeline project part of the tax deal?
Fossil fuel is not the answer and the keystone project is not a tax! It is unrelated to the economy and jobs. Pipelines don;t produce jobs anyway, thats why republicans want them so much. This 30 inch pipeline will further escalate CO2 and global warming also. Plus if it explodes it will cause serious catastrophes and pollute the groundwater.

The pipeline will cost more than its worth right out of the gate!!!

Answer:-If the pipeline is such a bad idea, why doesn't President Obama turn it down right now, instead of trying to wait until after the next election? Could it be that he is placating you and the rest of enviro nuts, while promising the unions that he will OK the project after his re-election?

PS. If you think the pipeline will not affect the economy and jobs, you are a complete moron.
  • Question:-Why are radical environmentalists trying to prevent the Keystone Pipeline?
The Keystone Pipeline will help the US move toward energy independence and it will create at least 100,000 jobs.

Answer:-Firstly, it is not (just) radical environmentalists that are trying to prevent the Keystone Pipeline, it is people who work with that natural world as a whole, and people who think that there are plenty of alternatives to this project, and people such as: ecologists, zoologists, geographers and botanists are all against this proposition. It is because the ecosystems and boreal forests that exist on top of the 'tar sands' which are so fragile and valuable that there is much controversy over the pipeline. the act of mining for the oil itself is incredibly destructive, and as well as producing CO2 emissions and other greenhouse gasses, ancient woodlands and habitat that can never be replaced is cut down, again reducing a large carbon sink that helps to reduce CO2 levels. The mining also has other impacts, such as poisoning rivers and lakes with pollutants and has the potential to decimate local fishing jobs and again, destroy an irreplaceable ecosystem. The pipeline itself poses another threat, as many of the companies involved (such as shell) have proved in the past that they cannot control or stop leaks and spills of oil, and so no matter how they may say that they can ensure an environmental catastrophe does not happen, it cannot be proved as previous events have to be taken into account.

Looking at the idea of energy independence, although admittedly, would - for a time - be a greater energy security for the USA and Canada, would in the long term be disastrous for their energy security. By continuing to consume vast quantities of oil (and other fossil fuels) they risk falling behind the rest of the world. As oil dependency would inevitably continue to increase, more and more would be required from other sources, such as Iran and Saudi Arabia. The tar sands will eventually run out, and if 100,000+ people are working at this facility, when it runs dry (which is inevitable) there will be been more people unemployed than originally were. Although for a few years the economy would be boosted, in the long term it would lead to a wider scale unemployment and America having a higher dependency on higher price overseas oil from countries that could potentially charge as much as they want.

Even if you don't think man-made global warming is occurring you can see that oil is not the long term solution for energy independence anywhere because it will run out and leave anyone still dependent on it in a critical situation as they will have a serious energy problem.

So these are the main points that are being put across by the opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline, and they are many in number. It may go down to politics and the way in which many oil companies pay off politicians in order to get their own way but if it goes forward, then in the long run, America, Canada, the environment and the public as a whole will be worse off.
  • Question:-Do the states that would have the most to gain from the Keystone pipeline have anything in common?
The proposed Keystone pipeline would pass through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.

Do these states have anything in common that could influence the decision to approve or reject the project?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Is OBAMA intentionally hurting economy by fighting yearlong tax cut extension &blocking Keystone Pipeline jobs?
The Keystone Pipeline would create thousands of jobs instantly and lower the price of gas immediately as speculators bet on the price to drop in the long run.....

And extending the tax cut for a whole year will provide more certainty thankicking the can down the road for a month.....

Is OBAMA intentionally sabatoging economy in order to blame his problems on Republicans?

Is the press covering this story fairly?

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Where are cons getting their numbers for the Keystone pipeline? They keep changing?
Also why did cons oppose the American Jobs Act that would put hundreds of thousands of laborers to work improving our infrastructure, but approve of a pipeline that even Keystone claims would make minimal jobs for only two years?

Answer:-Kind of like how the libs keep changing the way they figure out unemployment, payroll tax, etc, in order to skew things in their Messiah's favor? We opposed the American Jobs Act because it was just Porkulus, part II...as the old saying goes, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig. Democrats feed off of emotion, and ignorance...and people are starting to wake up now and figure it out.
  • Question:-Why are Conservatives trying to portray the job-killing Keystone XL pipeline as a job creator?
The construction phase of the Keystone XL pipeline will mean temporary construction jobs, but once construction is complete it will only require a staff of approximately 120 workers to keep the pipeline operating. Furthermore, completion of the pipeline will mean the loss of thousands of trucking and railroad jobs, and lead to an increase in fuel prices in North America.

The Keystone XL Pipeline is not a job creator, it's a job destroyer, so why are Republicans behind the 8-ball on this one and swallowing everything TransCanada tells them?

    Answer:-Because they are stupid.
  • Question:-Why is Obama blocking jobs by not supporting the Keystone Pipeline?
The House voted yesterday to extend payroll tax cuts as Obama wants and to support shovel ready jobs thru construction of the Keystone Pipeline. Obama says he'll veto the measure

    Answer:-
  • Question:-Dems, should 0bama build the Keystone pipeline to create union jobs or cancel it to save the planet?
"....A slew of unions are backing the project, including the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the International Union of Operating Engineers, the Teamsters, the Laborers’ International Union, the Building and Construction Trades Department of the AFL-CIO, and the United Association of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters for the United States and Canada...."

Yet, there are 1000s of 0bama's greenies protesting against the pipeline that unions want.

Answer:-Rock and a hard place on that one. My guess is that jobs will win the day. People need jobs in this country.

That may be why Republicans are filibustering every jobs bill. They want to force his hand on that pipeline.
