jon huntsman

  • Question:-Jon Huntsman: as corporations make record profits, does the government have a role in reining in corporate pow?
    Jon Huntsman
You said it is “criminal” for corporations to use loopholes in order to avoid paying their tax burden, including GE not paying a dime on $5.1 billion in profits last year. And while you support loopholes, you say you would oppose tax reform that increased the tax burden. But as corporations make record profits, does the government have a role in reining in corporate power? If so, how?

Answer:-The corporations are running the show at the moment.
  • Question:-Can the Social Liberal Republican and possible presidential contender, Jon Huntsman beat Obama?
The St. Petersburg Times said about him in this morning's edition, "Maybe what it takes to shake up the humdrum Republican presidential contest is a super-rich foreign policy ace who rides a Harley, cuts taxes and supported legislation to allow civil unions for gay couples." Is Jon Huntsman the man who can beat Obama?

Answer:-Why would anybody want to try to beat Obama?
  • Question:-What is the to know about Jon Huntsman?
Hey everyone, I'm just wondering if anyone could kind of summarize the political views of Jon Huntsman, one of the few candidates who actually appears to be normal.

So far, even though he is old and crazy, I really am liking Ron Paul as his views seem to be a lot more reasonable than his ultra-conservative opponents.

Answer:-I like Jon Huntsman, he is good.
  • Question:-Why does it seem Jon Huntsman is the only sane and intelligent candidate in the GOP?
I do have some respect for Ron Paul....but...

Jon Huntsman seems like the real deal. He genuinely seems to care for this country and doesn't seem self-seeking. He doesn't scapegoat or antagonize certain countries unlike Mitt Romney, D Trump, Bachman, etc. He keeps his composure and his success in Utah is #1 out of all states!

Answer:-I agree, but the Republicans seem to want him to remain in the background. Perhaps, they only allow one Mormon at a time. I like Huntsman who seems to be more Liberal, he doesn't personally attack people like the Republicans usually do, and he is good friends with Obama. The GOP is in big trouble, they seem to be falling apart which is probably why no suitable candidate had decided to run. It will be years before the GOP can get rid of the smell of Bush and Cheney. The Tea Party, Grover Norquist or Paul Ryan hasn't helped the Republican party with their Fascists idealizations.
I wouldn't be surprised if another political Party grows out of the ashes of the decaying Republican Party, perhaps Libertarians. This is what has happened to European Countries in the past.
  • Question:-Why hasn't Jon Huntsman been more popular on the republican debate?
I apologize if I sound ignorant or unaware, but I just finished up watching the New Hampshire debate (I'm just now getting more "into" politics) and I noticed that not too many people were fond about Jon Huntsman, and-in my opinion-I felt as if he deserved more popularity.

Answer:-Hard to figure, really. My guess is that Republicans are unwilling to forgive him for accepting a job as ambassador to China from Obama. They figure such a show of non-partisan patriotism is disloyal.

I agree with you: he's the best of the GOP's rather pitiful bunch.
  • Question:-Can you believe that I actually found a Republican that I respect, and his name is Jon Huntsman?
Of course I still will vote for President Obama, but I find Jon Huntsman's Civil Tone refreshing. He also worked in the Obama Administration, which shows his willingness to work outside his Party.

But I know the fact that he worked for President Obama will ruin his chance of ever becoming hte Republican Nominee. But he seems like a good and decent person nevertheless.

Answer:-I agree with you, which is probably why the rest of the republicans won't pick him. Huntsman make them look really, really bad.
  • Question:-Republicans what do you think of Jon Huntsman?
What do you think of Jon Huntsman?
The former Governor of Utah who is running for President.

Answer:-He's either a man with some honor and integrity OR a man pretending to have honor and integrity for his political gain.
  • Question:-Why are Republicans so dumb as to not support the only possible winner they have, Jon Huntsman?
I can't find any sense in the fact that Jon Huntsman is last in the polls

Answer:-I'm a Republican and I like Jon Huntsman. He's not a warmonger like Bachmann and Santorum who have zero chance of beating Obama. He has a great record as governor. He cut taxes and created jobs. Too bad the establishment Republicans can't let go of big military spending.
  • Question:-Conservatives, why do you prefer Newt Gingrich over Jon Huntsman?
Jon Huntsman can be a formidable opponent for Obama, and he makes a far better example of conservative thought than Newt Gingrich with his terrible past and temperament. Why do you still prefer Newt Gingrich?

Answer:-I haven't been watching TV or reading the paper, but chances are whoever conservatives are supporting, is the candidate the media is causing them to support.

You wouldn't have half the population voting for the interests of the 1%, unless they're getting fed propaganda by the media.
  • Question:-Could Republican Presidential Candidate Jon Huntsman become a sex symbol?
    http://whitehouse2012.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/jon-huntsman-official-web.jpg

He's got that "yeah, if I tried to kiss you, you'd resist at first, but after a few seconds you might give in a little just to see what it felt like" look to him.

Answer:-yes, to the likes of ted haggard, mark foley and larry craig, among many others in the gop...
