- Question:-piracy....?
lets say you use your aunts serial number for Photoshop CS2.. and it works. and she let you use it so technically its not stealing.. would that still be considered piracy?
i would think considering she paid her money to purchase it she could use it in any way she wanted to. and share whatever information she has with a person she trusts. and by the way im not 12. im older than that.
Answer:-Accordingto the Adobe web site, the OWNER of the program is allowed to download it to one other computer. For example a work computer and a home computer, or a home desktop and a home laptop.
So, relax, you are not guilty of "piracy" as long as she gave it to you.
One thing I don't understand, it says both computers can not use the software at the same time. I'm assuming that means you can not download updates at the same time on both computers, because if you're using the program off line, there's no way they can tell both are in use at the same time. - Question:-Piracy!?!?!?!?
Would downloading free music and movies be considered piracy? from like limewire and stuf?
Answer:-Yes. It's copyright infringement because the creator isn't being paid for their work. If you download a movie without paying for it, the actors, director, writer etc don't get paid. Same goes for music. And if you're caught you can be sued or face criminal charges.
http://www.chillingeffects.org/piracy/faq.cgi - Question:-Why is piracy good or at least what are the good points of piracy economically?
I am not advocating piracy, but my social issues paper requires a counter-argument. Please list a source or your own personal opinions of who piracy is good economically. Please don't say "Piracy is bad... ect ect." I'm looking for its pros.
Answer:-What you are really mean is the black market. Black Markets do well where there are embargoes, prohibitions and taxes. The advantage of unregulated trading is the fact that you usually pay less and can deal directly with the supplier. However, you do have to be careful. Piracy will never be wiped out completely because of human nature. That is why is just dumb to even try. - Question:-How much money did piracy cost businesses during the Golden Age of Piracy?
I'm writing a research paper comparing the Golden Age of Piracy to Modern Maritime and Information Pirates but can't seem to find any kind of financial statistic from this time period. I need to be able to cite this so please include the website you found the information.
Thanks so much!
Answer:-It is a vague figure, and an accurate estimation is unabailable. So, just go to wikipedia. They will have an answer for you - Question:-What are your thoughts on piracy and the internet? The downloading of music and movies? ?
What are your thoughts about piracy and the internet? The downloading of music, movies and software? What makes a good professional? A good computer professional? Im taking a class regarding this info and some input would be helpful.
Answer:-the same as i think about pirating anything else . you never know whop or what you are dealing with and the after affects can come crashing along your shore any amount of time later . it shouldnt be considered stealing , after all its just another form of information or communication and if you can catch it on the wind its yours , or , ours . - Question:-What is you take on the morality of software piracy?
Now most of us here at some point in their life have used pirated software. I would like to ask what is your take on software piracy? Its it really as bad as physical theft? Do you think DRM only seeks to annoy legitimate users? What do you think could be done to lower piracy rates? Insightful, intricate answers are appreciated.
Answer:-Here is my take on software piracy.
It is so ironic that when Vista was released Microsoft boasted that Vista would be almost impossible to pirate. In reality its just as easy to get a banshee copy of Vista as XP.
For example purely as an exercise just after Vista had been released I downloaded a torrent of Vista Ultimate out of curiosity, expecting WGA failure, inability to install updates etc. etc. etc. I was amazed that it not only activated but accepted updates as well.
So I wonder what happened to Microsofts claims as there are now more cases of piracy than ever, particularly in Asia where it has hit a huge scale where over a quarter of Vista installations are pirated.
Myself I uninstalled the Vista I had downloaded as I stated it was purely an exercise, besides I don't believe in stealing. BUT you can't blame people for doing it as they can save themselves a sack full of dollars.
I don't condone it, but I can understand why piracy so rife. As for getting caught UNLIKELY.
LUg. - Question:-What is the best way to prevent piracy of my online book?
I am interested in making a book available for online purchase and download. However, I am worried that it may be pirated and illegal copies distributed (or sold). Can you please suggest me the best and most cost effective way to digitally sign my book (or use some other method) to prevent its piracy as far as possible?
Answer:-There is no way to prevent piracy, sorry. Once someone got their hands on a PDF or similar, expect to see it in the pirates world. - Question:-What can be done to prevent music piracy?
I understand that any album released recently will be free forever due to internet sites etc. But is there not some kind of way to prevent future piracy?
For example, on all digital releases, can't there be some form of (I use the term loosely) virus, that prevents and shuts down any one trying to pirate the album.
What is the industry working on to cease this mass theft? Have there been any recent discoveries or ideas?
Answer:-will the simplest cds in security r the audio cds
so..even nero cacn't do anything bout it
well i donno - Question:-How is Internet Piracy different than thieft?
If Im caught stealing a CD from the store, odds are I will recieve a minimal fine or even simply pay for the CD. Internet piracy carries a penalty of thousands of dollars per song downloaded, which is obviously more signifigant than stealing a hard copy.
Why the huge difference in penalties?
Answer:-it used to be that i could buy a book and loan it to you and nobody gave a dam ... now in effect , they want to charge you for every person u let read the book as well as charge you each time YOU read it ... imo they just need to rethink the whole marketing strategy because their way of thinking about it and labeling 80% of the population criminals and pirates is archaic .. they need to move into the 21st century with the rest of us ... - Question:-What are the economic implications of ignoring enforcement of piracy?
What are the economic implications of ignoring enforcement of piracy? Are intangible properties an asset, just as tangible assets, such as buildings and equipment? If so, why are they viewed differently? Explain.
Answer:-lack of innovation and knowledge-based industries (electronics, pharmaceutical, movies, music, etc.)
intangible properties are assets; they are different b/c they are much easier to steal.

sopa bill
- Question:-What sort of consequences will happen if the SOPA bill passes?
If the SOPA bill ever comes into power and is now a new law what sort of things will happen afterward? How will people react to almost every site on the internet being blocked? How long do you think that this bill might last?
For me I give it a month or a year at most for it to last then it would be gone. What about you?
Answer:-Facebook, youtube, and other social media sites could be blocked. And nothing would stop other sites being blocked too. Each and every day we lose more and more of our rights. Freedom of speech and the press mean nothing to greedy self interested politicians. - Question:-What would happen to Steam if the SOPA Bill passes?
If the SOPA Bill passes in congress what do you think will happen to the videogame downloading site steam? WIll it be pulled down?
Answer:-Steam purchases licenses to distribute software and doesn't infringe any copyrights by doing so. It wouldn't be affected. However, Garrys Mod is the only exception. Since the Source SDK is technically open source, it is technically protected, BUT there is a HUGE community dedicated to doing things like uploading Halo skins, COD weapons, real looking soda machines and almost anything you can think of. That could throw a monkey wrench into Steam, but it will most likely result in Steam dropping support for 3rd party mods and using their crappy anti-cheat garbage to ensure you don't download anything infringing. As of right now, nothing looks bad, but they could find something considering how much power SOPA gives to big corps and the government. - Question:-What kind of harm can the SOPA Bill inflict?
I have recently heard about the SOPA bill that might pass tomorrow and if it does, people say the internt could be ruined. Does this mean that DeviantART could be affected by this? I don't want that site shut down because of it.
Answer:-Theoretically, any site that has ANY content that infringes on someone else's copyright could be blocked to U.S. internet users. Not simply given a notice to remove the content or suffer legal repercussions (which is basically what the DMCA laws do right now). Just blocked at the DNS level so that U.S. residents can't access it (well, they technically still could by accessing the IP address of the server, but the average user isn't going to go to that kind of hassle)
The bill is so vague that ANY site that contains user-generated content could potentially be shut down if someone makes a complaint. It doesn't have to go through the courts first, it doesn't have to be sent a notice of the violation first. SOPA just lets a government department say "shut off access to this domain".
This *potentially* means that sites like YouTube, Facebook, DeviantArt, Flickr, Twitter, and so one could be blocked in the U.S. But the real danger here is not to huge sites like those, but to smaller sites that can't afford teams of high-power lawyers. If SOPA passes, the internet is going to see a lot less innovation and social interaction, because a lot of webmasters won't be able to afford the potential legal costs. - Question:-If the SOPA bill is passed, how will it affect musicians on YouTube?
I'm a musician who posts videos on YouTube. I post a bunch of music ranging from originals to cover songs. As long as I am not monetizing off my cover songs, I cannot get in trouble. But if the SOPA bill is passed, could I be punished?
Answer:- - Question:-Will the SOPA bill pass now since its been delayed?
I am so confused about how things work in the Government, but do you guys thing that this SOPA bill will pass after the recess? Or will it get filibustered (or whatever, I heard) or vetoed?
Answer:-Here info and how to fight back!

Also, boycott Hollywood, show them that screwing with the internet has consequences. - Question:-When will we find out if the SOPA bill passes or not?
By now, I'm guessing nearly every internet user has heard of the SOPA (stop online piracy act) bill. I am curious as to when we will hear the results of whether it passes or not.
Will it be months? Up to a year? I have no idea myself - I appreciate any answers from people that do.
Answer:-There will be a hearing on it December 15th, they had previusly had a hearing where none of the bill's opponents were allowed to speak out - Question:-What is the SOPA (House Bill 3261)? And how will it affect the internet?
Hello guys.
I was wondering that what if they passed the SOPA bill, what is this bill, and what will happen to the internet or anything else if they passed it? Sorry, I am just curious. Will I still have access to YouTube and Facebook after they pass the bill?
Answer:- - Question:-what would happen if the SOPA bill passes?
I just read about it on wikipedia and im confused about it. Please answer these questions:
1. What has wikipedia done wrong?
2. If the bill passes would wikipedia be shutdown forever?
3. Why does SOPA want to close them down?
4. What would SOPA gain from this?
5. What would this mean to internet users like me living outside the US. (i live in UK btw)
Answer:-1. What has wikipedia done wrong? It links to other websites and if those websites have copyright material anywhere on the site, even in the comments section, it can under SOPA be closed and so can Wikipedia. Wikipedia has pictures which are sometimes copyright protected. Therefore it can be shutdown.
2. If the bill passes would wikipedia be shutdown forever? If a copyright holder complains about infringement the government can take control of wikipedia
3. Why does SOPA want to close them down?
SOPA is a bill. It doesn't "want" to close anyone down. The government wants to be able to control the internet. They've been trying to pass these types of bills for over 10 years.
4. What would SOPA gain from this?
Just another way to regulate/control free speech.
5. What would this mean to internet users like me living outside the US
It just means they can close websites down in the US and attempt to close infringing websites internationally. - Question:-What will you do if the SOPA Bill Passes?
If the SOPA Bill Passes in congress what will you do after that?
Answer:-Rant and rage - Question:-Would the Protect IP/SOPA bill be an okay topic for a feature article?
I have to write a feature article for L.A. Do you think the protect IP/SOPA bill thing would be an okay topic?
Answer:-Yes. I would like to read something about why this bill is considered evil by so many sensible people. To me the idea of prohibiting the use of copyrighted material by those who don't own the copyright is rather reasonable. I run a small press, and I would be furious if someone took our writers' work and posted it on YouTube as their own. That is theft! Until the recent popularity of YouTube and similar websites, using someone's copyrighted material without permission or compensation was illegal. That sounds logical to me, but many are opposing this law. If you could present both sides of this controversy, it would be a service to your readers. BTW, wish you would send me a copy - I'd really like to read it!
sopa and pipa
- Question:-Can the effects of SOPA and PIPA spread to other countries?
- Will the media companies behind SOPA and PIPA move on to other countries? I've already heard of Motion Pictures Association talking to the governments of other countries, discussing PIPA/SOPA-like legislations.
- Will these countries really follow the footsteps of America, if SOPA/PIPA actually manages to pass in the USA?
- Is SOPA/PIPA gonna shut down websites originating from the USA completely, or are they just gonna block them in America? Such that people from other countries would still be able to access them.
Answer:- - Question:-Which political party is trying to pass the new anti-piracy bills SOPA and PIPA?
I've seen in the news that Congress is trying to pass anti-piracy legislation bills called PIPA and SOPA and a couple websites like wikipedia and google are opposing it by having blackouts. Is it Democrats or Republicans trying to get this through? Or half and half?
Answer:- - Question:-What do you think of SOPA ( stop online piracy act) and PIPA?
What do you think of the SOPA and PIPA anti-piracy bills,
and have you signed the google or wikipedia petitions?
Answer:- - Question:-What will the SOPA and PIPA bills do?
I don't understand. SOPA and PIPA will end internet piracy of music and films. Isn't that good? Why is everyone protesting? What is this about "internet censorship"?
Answer:- - Question:-What exactly will SOPA and PIPA do?
Everyone is talking about SOPA and PIPA but what is the big deal. I know it is suppose to stop people from selling counterfeit things but why is it so bad?
Answer:- - Question:-What exactly would happen if SOPA and PIPA pass and become laws?
Will Twitter, Facebook, You Tube, Google, and many other sites actually be destroyed or not? Like I really want to still be able to communicate with my friends and post videos of me singing. I live thousands of miles from my friends and cant call some because they don't have phones. Also what are the chances of these laws passing?
Answer:- - Question:-If congress passes SOPA and PIPA, does that mean they betrayed their constituents?
It is evident eveywhere I go, my college campus , online, etc , that a majority of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA. If then, congress passes both, or one of the laws, doesn't that mean that congress failed to respond to the people of which they derive their power ? So then, will people finally wake up and vote for a new congress these elections that may repeal SOPA or PIPA?
I wish I was american so i could vote :/
Answer:- - Question:-Is it safe to say that anyone who supports SOPA and PIPA committing Treason against the United States?
This is a serious matter that will undermine the First Amendment, and all others based on the idea that we need to stop Internet Piracy. This is lame because the pirates will only figure out how to get around this latest form of censorship that will eventually be used against ordinary Americans.
Answer:- - Question:-WHAT IS YOUR OPINION IN SOPA and PIPA CENSORING THE INTERNET AND SLOWING ECONOMIC GROWTH IN THE U.S.A?
Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?
Answer:- - Question:-Is the blackout of Wikipedia in protest of SOPA and PIPA going to change much?
I am fully against having the government be in control over the internet, and it violates the first ammendment. The blackout on Wikipedia gives the phone numbers of the congressmen in the state and other ways to contact them. However, Congress already know that people hate them, and they are being paid big money by lobbyists. Even if it does pass, which I hope it doesn't, I sure hope the Supreme Court takes it down.
Answer:-
pipa
- Question:-What is the closest instrument to the pipa?
The pipa is a chinese instrument heard in the openin of Incubus's "Aqueos Transmission." it's a real neat tune and I don't know what would soUnd like it. Any help?
Answer:-Koto is a similar-sounding instrument, but you can also just play the riff on guitar. (There are effects out there that'll make the guitar sound kind of like a sitar - that works well.) - Question:-What exactly is PIPA and SOPA trying to censor?
I don't have a full understanding of what the internet censorship protests are all about. Some places say you'd have to say goodbye to sites like Google and Wikipedia, even Craigslist has banners to stop PIPA and SOPA.
So what would happen if the web was censored? And most importantly, what would get censored?
Answer:- - Question:-Why is the media paying more attention to SOPA as opposed to PIPA?
The laws are very similar and SOPA is far less likely to be passed.
Is it possible that it has anything to do with the fact that SOPA is supported by more Republicans and PIPA is supported by more Democrats, or is this just a coincidence?
Answer:- - Question:-Can the effects of SOPA and PIPA spread to other countries?

Answer:- - Question:-What is the difference between SOPA and PIPA?
What are the differences between the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA) that are currently being debated?
Is it only that SOPA is in the House and PIPA is in the Senate or are there other differences?
Please and thank you :)
Answer:-There are a few differences, but both will kill the internet if they pass.
Here we can still fight this horrid thing.

http://www.stopcensorship.org/ - Question:-Which companies will people boycott if PIPA passes?
According to someones answer, if it is true, the SOPA bill is dead. However the PIPA bill could still be passed. Which companies are people planning to boycott if PIPA passes? Or what are people doing now to ensure PIPA doesnt pass with SOPA?
Answer:- - Question:-Which political party is trying to pass the new anti-piracy bills SOPA and PIPA?
I've seen in the news that Congress is trying to pass anti-piracy legislation bills called PIPA and SOPA and a couple websites like wikipedia and google are opposing it by having blackouts. Is it Democrats or Republicans trying to get this through? Or half and half?
Answer:- - Question:-How are the Sopa and Pipa bills good?
I already know plenty of reasons why it is bad but i want to understand why any one would want such a bill to pass. I will not counter you or anything i'm going to remain open minded. Can some one direct me to some Pro Sopa/Pipa sites?
Answer:-The whole aim of these bills is to protect the copyrights of the movie. music, etc industries. It is fairly common for foreign websites (eg, piratebay) to facilitate the sharing of these copyrighted materials, and as it stands, the US can do nothing about it. Something like SOPA or PIPA, however, all flaws aside, is intended to cut off traffic to these sites, in order to protect copyrighted material. - Question:-What are the pros and cons of SOPA and PIPA?
I hear that record labels, movie studios, etc are in favor of SOPA and PIPA but websites like Wikipedia are against it.
I don't really understand what they are, can someone enlighten me?
Answer:-I have heard a lot of arguments against SOPA but none in favor of it. But a lot of members of congress have taken stands in favor of it. If you take a look at the members of congress who are in favor of it and those that are against it, they don't line up along any political lines that I can see. For example, both Michelle Bachmann and Nancy Pelosi are against it. Those two can't be further apart in their political ideologies.
As far as I am concerned I am against it because it means more government regulation. We need less regulation not more. - Question:-Will SOPA and PIPA ensure the government will have total control of all mass media?
The government needs to prevent us from seeing what they are doing and total media control is to the benefit of a tyrannical government, because they need to control what is news that's 'fit to print'.
Since the government controls all of mainstream-media in the United States and the internet is the last place we can go to find what isn't reported, will SOPA and PIPA ensure that the government has total control of what we are allowed to read and think?
Answer:-That's what they are trying to do. Read about Cass Sunstein (sp?) obamas information czar. He wants to stop the people from questioning anything.
what is sopa
- Question:-Can someone please sum up what SOPA really is and what it will do?
Okay! Well i know pretty much what SOPA is but i don't understand fully. I know that most websites are gonnna protest and shut down their websites for 24 hours.
But if i the law is passed what does that mean? Will it close down social networks like Facebook and Tumblr for shut down for good?
Answer:- - Question:-What is SOPA, and what will happen if the bills past?
What is the point of SOPA?
Answer:- - Question:-what is SOPA and PIPA intending to do?
why are they being concidered? what sites will get shut down? and will it actually pass?
Answer:- - Question:-What is the SOPA and what happens if it passes?
i know that it has something to do with the internet, and i know that google has something to do with it. What is it and what happens if the bill passes?
Answer:- - Question:-What is SOPA? And what is PIPPA?
I noticed that Yahoo deleted this question. I know damn well what SOPA is.
Answer:- - Question:-What exactly is SOPA and do you thing it will go into act?
I only really know that it will shut down some websites that are important. What exactly is it.
Answer:- - Question:-What is sopa and what exactly will it effect?
Answer:- - Question:-Can someone please exPlain to me what SOPA is? And what they plan to do exactly?
Are they just going to shut down illegal video download sites or sites like Facebook?
Answer:- - Question:-What is the SOPA and PIPA stuff all about?
I keep seeing it all over the place, what is it. Could someone explain this in a way a 14 year old could understand. Haha Is it a bad or a good thing??
Wtf! Has the U.S. Voted on it yet or will they just put it into action
Answer:- - Question:-What exactly is PIPA and SOPA trying to censor?

Like when will congress discuss SOPA and PIPA to get it to either pass or fail? I think I recall someone saying January 17, but I'm not sure. I would like to know when the fate of the internet will be decided.
Answer:-The house has just dropped the hearing on SOPA that was scheduled for 1/18/12. They have postponed plans to consider the bill. The Senate will be voting on PIPA on 1/24/12. Please lobby your senator to oppose that bill. - Question:-What outrageous lies will you tell your friends Wed when Wikipedia shuts down to protest SOPA and PIPA?
SOPA is the anti free speech legislation masked as anti piracy legislation PIPA version of same bill
no it is companies protesting free speech as a way to stop piracy oh wait that is your lie isn't it
Answer:- - Question:-How likely is it that the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and PIPA will be passed?
Have just read briefly about a possible bill that may be passed that will have massive effects on the internet, online privacy and so forth.
How likely is it that any bill seriously impacting online privacy / freedom of speech will be passed in the U.S.? If so, do you think such a bill will seriously change the online world as we know it?
Answer:- - Question:-Is Sopa/Pipa the end of freedom of the internet as we know it?
I imagine SOPA being like computer class in high school... every thing blocked from researching Satan to playing games, facebook blocked ect... except international websites.
Answer:- - Question:-Each of the candidates: What is your position on SOPA and PIPA bills soon up for vote in Congress?
Many people are concerned about the lack of due process and complete lack of any avenue for redress of harms that may be the result by the implementation of the two bills? Do you support the passage of these bills into law in the current form they are written?
Answer:-How come the government LIES about everything to the American people ? Does the government think we are all stupid people ? Do you really think we don't know the difference ? When are you going to stop it as well and be REAL Leaders instead of Lying Failures ? - Question:-What do you think of the republicans favoring SOPA and PIPA?
.
Answer:-What do you expect of "Christian Conservatives"? After all one of the biggest donors calling for pushing through SOPA and PIPA is the online Porn and Porn movie industry lobby.

- Question:-Sopa????????????????????????
Your thoughts.
Answer:- - Question:-Why were they able to create SOPA? How big is the chance SOPA will become reality?
Youtube and several websites are full of videos and blogs about SOPA. How was this organization able to spread out so soon? I don't live in America. So was it in the news all the time or something?
And what about the chances? Is it really possible for SOPA to rule the internet? Can we expect a demonstration against SOPA? Sorry if I asked to many questions.
Answer:-No, you are asking the right questions. Check Wikipedia for the arguments pro and con, look at who supports it and who opposes it, and decide yourself. I think there is enough opposition that it will not pass, but crazier things have been signed into law. A good example is the Patriot Act. - Question:-What sort of consequences will happen if the SOPA bill passes?
If the SOPA bill ever comes into power and is now a new law what sort of things will happen afterward? How will people react to almost every site on the internet being blocked? How long do you think that this bill might last?

Freedom of speech and the press mean nothing to greedy self interested politicians. - Question:-What is the difference between SOPA and COICA?
I remember reading all over the place about COICA last year, but I didn't actually pay much attention to it. Is this new SOPA thing similar to it? What exactly are they?
Answer:- - Question:-Exactly how will SOPA affect the internet and why are people against it?
I understand that SOPA is supposed to stop piracy and copyright things but why are people so much against it? Are there only uneducated foolish teenagers against it because they think it will close their facebook page? Please just explain this thing to me in an easy way.
Answer:-The problem with SOPA, is it will go one step further than going after illegal movie, music and vidoe game downloads. Site like facebook could be taken down and you know how youtube has a ton of fanmade videos of their favorite tv shows, you can say goodbye to those.
Anyone that's just an average blogger who reviews video game and shows clips. (and they're doing it just for kicks. They get no money for it) You can say goodbye to those too.
Oh and you know how some people on yotube post videos of them singing Beatle Songs or whatever. That would fall under SOPA, so those videos would be taken down. Basicly it would kill youtube and many of the social media sites.
And this whole process could very well destroy the mainframe of the internet.
And one of the bigger problems is the guys voting on this are a bunch of old guys who have no idea how the internet works. They don't even understand their own bill or how the whole outcome will effect the future of the internet.
- Question:-Is indefinite detention of Americans under NDAA and censorship under SOPA indications of a police state?
SOPA will strip us of our rights under the 1st Amendment and indefinite detention of Americans without due process strips us of our 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Amendments.
Under SOPA and NDAA, will the United States become another police state?
Hey Liv, what are you doing about it, while you tell me about my "police state fetish"? Maybe you're on your iPhone while protesting.
Answer:-Of course it will.
Sad thing is that these are the only 2 things BOTH parties can agree on. They love taking away our rights because it gives THEM more power. - Question:-What is SOPA and how does it effect me personally?
I need to do a speech for my public speaking class on Internet Censorship. I thought I'd talk about this new bill being passed called SOPA, but I'm not really positive of what exactly it is censoring or how it would effect me specifically. Can anyone help me out?
Answer:-It's basically America's version of the Great Firewall of China
it allows the government to block any website they want - Question:-What is the difference between SOPA and PIPA?
What are the differences between the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA) that are currently being debated?
Is it only that SOPA is in the House and PIPA is in the Senate or are there other differences?
Please and thank you :)
Answer:-There are a few differences, but both will kill the internet if they pass.
Here we can still fight this horrid thing.

(There are effects out there that'll make the guitar sound kind of like a sitar - that works well.) - Question:-What is the difference between SOPA and PIPA?

http://www.stopcensorship.org/ - Question:-How are the Sopa and Pipa bills good?
I already know plenty of reasons why it is bad but i want to understand why any one would want such a bill to pass. I will not counter you or anything i'm going to remain open minded. Can some one direct me to some Pro Sopa/Pipa sites?
Answer:- - Question:-What are the pros and cons of SOPA and PIPA?
I hear that record labels, movie studios, etc are in favor of SOPA and PIPA but websites like Wikipedia are against it.
I don't really understand what they are, can someone enlighten me?
Answer:- - Question:-Will SOPA and PIPA ensure the government will have total control of all mass media?
The government needs to prevent us from seeing what they are doing and total media control is to the benefit of a tyrannical government, because they need to control what is news that's 'fit to print'.
Since the government controls all of mainstream-media in the United States and the internet is the last place we can go to find what isn't reported, will SOPA and PIPA ensure that the government has total control of what we are allowed to read and think?
Answer:-That's what they are trying to do. Read about Cass Sunstein (sp?) obamas information czar. He wants to stop the people from questioning anything. - Question:-When will we see some action taken on SOPA and PIPA by the government?
Like when will congress discuss SOPA and PIPA to get it to either pass or fail? I think I recall someone saying January 17, but I'm not sure. I would like to know when the fate of the internet will be decided.
Answer:-The house has just dropped the hearing on SOPA that was scheduled for 1/18/12. They have postponed plans to consider the bill. The Senate will be voting on PIPA on 1/24/12. Please lobby your senator to oppose that bill. - Question:-What anime has a catboy with white hair with white clothes playing a pipa?
i have seen it before but i can not find it anywhere & i have forgot the name to it. can someone please help me find it. this has been diving me crazy for a long time
Answer:-Yoko Kurama from YuYu Hakusho - Question:-How likely is it that the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and PIPA will be passed?
Have just read briefly about a possible bill that may be passed that will have massive effects on the internet, online privacy and so forth.
How likely is it that any bill seriously impacting online privacy / freedom of speech will be passed in the U.S.? If so, do you think such a bill will seriously change the online world as we know it?
Answer:- - Question:-does anyone play the erhu or the pipa?
i want to explore some non-traditional musical instruments, what types do you recommend for soothing sounds...where can i find them?
Answer:-traditional chinese music instruments:
erhu
pipa
yang qin
gu zhen
gaohu
banhu
and many others
I -myself- learn erhu, coz I luv its mellow tunes..
but in the place I learn music, most students play gu zhen coz it's easier.
String instruments like erhu, just like violin, will give u bad sound when u first play it. But, with time goes by, the sound improves. (Youtube has many video music for erhu and guzhen)
But with instrument like pipa or gu zhen u will get go0d sound even if u play it for 1st time
Erhu knowns in many movie (chinese movie or martial art movie).
Check out 12 girls band for ur sound reference. Or try to open this link http://eason.com.sg/products/products_new.jsp just for u to see the pictures of those instruments or to hear example of the sound instruments - Question:-Do PIPA and SOPA affect countries other than America?
I live in Spain I don't want this internet censorship to happen as much as the next person but I can't do anything about it as I am not a citizen of the US. Will this censorship affect me or is it only US citizens. It's completely unfair if it affects me and I can't even voice my say.
